I am an experienced and qualified construction procurement professional seeking a role in the Dublin area. I have recently returned from the UK having worked there for several years in the construction industry. Prior to returning home to Dublin from my time in the UK I took a five month travel break between November 2017 and April 2018. I possess over seven years’ experience in procurement positions with contractors and materials/service providers in the industry. In my roles with major UK contractors I have gained extensive experience with sub-contractor and supplies procurement, sub-contractor/supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, implementation and management. My Supply Chain Management responsibilities have given me valuable experience of developing and implementing numerous company-wide strategic procurement and supply chain initiatives. In my time working for materials/service providers to the construction industry I also gained valuable experience in the areas of supplier relationship management, supply/demand forecasting and price negotiation. I have a proven track record of increasing efficiency, providing savings, and adding value in each role that I have undertaken.Along with my natural communication skills, my strong work ethic, my ability to learn quickly and my methodical approach to work, this experience has allowed me to develop the strong set of skills required of a procurement professional. This included providing up-to-date reports in relation to the status of current and future project opportunities.o Promotion of preferred suppliers among ISG Project and Commercial teams to maximise spend levels.o Promotion of preferred suppliers with other related stakeholders such as the main client, design consultants and sub-contractors.o Category management – regular analysis by product category (i.e. Fans, Lighting etc.) to ensure that existing agreements are best suited to company requirements. Evaluation of potential new suppliers and related contract negotiation where necessary.o Continuous tracking and periodic collection of rebates as per the terms of each agreement. This has resulted in a vast improvement in the reliability of service to Spence, six month fixed price agreements in a fluctuating market, and generally closer and more efficient working relationships. o Plant hire system overhaul – re-design of Standard Operating Procedures for the hire of all plant and tools.
