Career Summary of David A. Freestone I have extensive experience in the coal fired generation field. I also have some experience in the gas fired generation, oil and gas maintenance and construction, and manufacturing fields.I started with PNM as a plant mechanic and utilized their education reimbursement program to improve my knowledge and ultimately gain a BS degree while working full time.I have held numerous managerial positions from a first level to a vice president level. I have made presentations to a large EPRI conference and to PNM’s Board of Directors as well as many other groups. I feel my written and oral communication skills to be excellent. While with PNM I was selected for an internal one year executive development program. This consisted of training in numerous areas, which were then implemented in the areas that we managed. Periodically we would give presentations on “lessons learned” to the CEO and his staff. Additionally PNM sent me to Northwestern University Kellogg School of business for a “mini MBA” program. While I have taken jobs outside the power generation arena it is still my core base of experience. I have taken the jobs in the other areas to broaden my experience and knowledge in these areas. You will note that most of my coal fired power plant experience has been in the maintenance side of the business but during my tenure as Environmental/ Fuels Manager I had both Operations and maintenance reporting to me.I have had supervisory jobs from the time I served in the military until my current position. In summation, I have a very deep and broad background in the energy industry with a marked emphasis in the power generation arena. However I am not afraid to step out into new areas and feel my breadth of experience qualifies me for positions in other areas.
Listed skills include Power Generation, Power Plants, Energy, Project Planning, and 20 others.
