Engaged with executives at multiple levels obtaining approval of a $9.6M budget over five years resulting in $3.6M annual savings/cost avoidance in data center operations. Achieved global data center performance improvement targets by lowering the average Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) by ten percent.• Completed data center energy efficiency audits and implemented recommendations resulting in ROI of three years or less. Required multi-national, cross-organizational coordination to complete initiatives including sealing raised floor, UPS optimization, ultrasonic humidification conversion, and LED retrofits.• Co-Managed a cross-organizational team that negotiated a long-term utility scale (112MW) wind energy power purchase agreement (PPA) with a Total Contract Value of $139M. The PPA offset 100 percent of energy for five large data centers, “greening” all internal data processing for HPE and HPI, enabling HPE to achieve its corporate greenhouse gas reduction goal five years early. Also developed streamlined methods for tracking, trending, and reporting monthly wind farm performance.• Established and managed the multi-national HPE Global Energy Council to monitor and manage major shifts in the energy sector globally (e.g. kwh rate tripling in Brazil due to drought). I defined objectives, identified global cross-functional team members, obtained executive approvals, set agendas, arranged speakers and presentations, managed meetings, and ensured follow-up.• At my Vice President’s request, I established and managed regional teams to monitor international environmental legislation and its impact on cost of operations for our 80+ global data centers (e.g. CRC in UK, NGER in Australia).
