From January 2011 I have overseen the investment holdings of our family trust, studied a Masters Degree in Business (Property) at the University of South Australia from 2012 until July of 2014 and undertaken consulting work for private clients in the property sector.

In the seven years I spent as Managing Director of Yelmah Holdings I have had responsibility for the budgeting and financial arrangements of the company, management of the daily operations and the staff team, administration of the business, QA systems, WH&S, human resources, contract administration (both supply and service contracts), business planning and strategy. Oversight of the non-farm investment divisions of the enterprise.Key highlights include major improvements in HR performance and WH&S. Substantial production increases through both operational performance and infrastructure improvement. Total restructure of our broad-acre production methodologies. Implementation of the plan for and oversight of the sale and dispersal of the business.Yelmah was recognised throughout this period as a leader and centre of excellence in porcine genetics consistently being the top performer in the National Pig Improvement Program operated by AGBU at the University of New England.

As General Manager responsibilities included organisation of the production of the enterprises both broad-acre and porcine, maintenance of the vehicles, plant and buildings of the entity, introduction of quality assurance and operational procedure systems, achieving and establishing production and performance KPIs, budgeting for the production enterprises, being Studmaster for the porcine genetics division and oversight of the sales division. I also undertook the construction of a new finisher building and weighbridge facility from planning application to implementation, a subsequent refit and redesign of the entire facility and a concurrent revamp of the production system.Key highlights in the period include passing or initial SQF2000 audit on the first attempt with no CARs, the reinvention of the pork production facilities and process, building a first rate genetic stock from the extant base and maintaining the sales base through a very difficult trading period.

Conducted the sales and marketing of the genetic products and undertook the role of Studmaster for the business.Key achievements in this period include and increase in sales 500% in this division in the first three years, introduction of semen sales and an unrivalled test record at SABOR central testing facility. Systemising the sales process for the business.

Undertook and self directed study tour of porcine breeding facilities in Northern Europe, Canada and the UK

Undertook a farm exchange to Switzerland in the IFYE movement.

Daily operations and organisation of the staff of the piggery facility. Maintenance operations for the facility. Breeding stock selections.
