I've served in the US Navy for nine years. I spent two years in training and obtained qualification as a nuclear rated electrical operator. I was then relocated to Naval Base Kitsap Bangor and served for four years on the USS Henry M. Jackson. During my time onboard I pushed to diversify my experiences and develop a wide variety of skills.I started off performing maintenance and repairs to various electrical equipment and systems including power generation, power distribution systems, air purification and oxygen generation equipment. I then worked as a supervisor and directed and monitored a team of electricians in maintenance on electrical equipment for the nuclear propulsion plant. Everything from day to day preventative maintenance to large scale troubleshooting and repairs. During this time I developed a knack and particular liking for operations planning and personnel management.During this time I also qualified to supervise the operations of electrical generation and distribution equipment for the ship and propulsion plant and additionally qualified Engineering Watch Supervisor (EWS) and supervised a watch team in routine and emergency nuclear and steam plant operations.I've discovered a love of technical and engineering based problems and developing solutions. I enjoy collaborating with a team to develop a plan or product that works as smoothly and efficiently as possible.I currently work as a field service technician, where I service various types of electrical equipment, ranging from large transformers to switching equipment and cabling. I am a Master Thermographer and have been performing thermography for 11 years on various types of electrical equipment.
