Designed infrastructure on a ‘tomorrow’s network today’ philosophy to maximize efficiency, and minimize future expansion costs. • Conceptualized the reusable communications design used for Super Bowl 48, saving about $400k per event on re-use.• Freed about $200k annually in capital that would otherwise be tied up in inventory by streamlining electronics logistics by implementing the use of radio frequency identification tags for all incoming electronics shipments to automatically track inventory. • Negotiated with customers to design custom work order solutions to meet mission critical requirements. • Collaborated with various municipalities and utilities to coordinate work sequencing for road widening, sidewalk improvements, and culvert replacements.• Responded to numerous emergency service outages, producing designs and work prints for field forces to remediate problems and eliminate conditions likely to cause future outages. Subsequently designed a fail-safe system currently under evaluation.• Ensured actual project costs came in at or under budget and at or before promised timeline at least 90% of the time.

Managed sales support and service ordering processes for $1B federal government accounts. Assured quality, compliance and cash flow. Responsible for the provisioning and engineering of outside plant to meet the needs of high capacity data circuit demands using cost effective methods to maximize revenues generated. Single point of contact for safety and high bandwidth circuits. • Designed, coordinated and implemented an 18-month project for a self-healing, diverse feed optical ring to Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant. • Saved approximately $500k/year in the Capital Region alone on associated Engineering and Field costs by adopting the practice of using vendor software to test copper circuit viability, which also reduced customer wait time.• Designed complete 5-node ring for St. Vincent’s Hospital with project scope of approximately $350k. • Designed and implemented about 60 copper to fiber multiplexer upgrades for T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and AT&T cell site locations on a fast track schedule. • Devised a successful, benchmarked, and adopted stopgap method of commissioning new upgraded multiplexers using available fiber in areas that are fiber deficient.• Led a team of 8 in employing efficient cost saving design techniques, saving approximately $2k per location on subsequent deployment costs related to provisioning digital signaling over copper. • Received a VP Award for superior contributions, and achievements.

Oversaw all facets of outside plant infrastructure, construction, expansion and maintenance work. Isolated and repaired problems in optically fed, and copper fed circuits and electronics.• Led an entire garage of about 45 technicians in fault location, splicing and repair productivity. • Trained approximately 50 new employees to employ various splicing, trouble shooting and maintenance techniques• Restored telecommunications infrastructure and service lost by cable failures.

Managed the software and hardware evaluation for 5 school districts to automate records management.• Created the working model for the automated permanent school records management for approximately 10,000 students upon which the current system was based. • Interfaced with major suppliers to choose hardware and software to incorporate seamlessly into an integrated system.

Organized, and coordinated construction to add an entire new floor atop of an existing sensitive data center. Supervised the construction and performed pre-pour inspections for a fuel oil tank farm containment system. Built and maintained dBase4 system to manage a token ring based network, enabling the team to have common access to tracking project datum.• Discovered deficiencies in the column bolt epoxy bonding process and halted further placement of columns until safety issues were resolved. • Certified all electrical upgrades met local, corporate and National Electrical Code specification.

Functioned as the primary liaison between IBM officials and Architect/Engineer for a $120M building renovation and modernization project. Oversaw the installation and commissioning of an automated VFD system for air handlers, fire alarm systems and controls, and automated lighting. At the request of IBM, was subsequently retained as a consultant at the Sterling Forest site. • Saved IBM approximately $120k for subsequent remediation by discovering an overpressure condition in the HVAC system before final acceptance.• Alerted contractors to any shortcomings in the work completed and ensured that all were rectified before release of payment.
