About David Galiwango

I believe in doing things that help and impact people's lives in a positive way. I am motivated by the proud feeling I get when I know that my actions have made a positive impact on someone's life. My journey started with the realisation that I need to build my understanding of the world around me if I am going to be as effective as I want to be. My early career started in the lab where I had to be analytical, meticulous and focused on my work. Understanding things to a molecular level is how my mind naturally works. I value understanding highly and believe that all people should have the access to a good education. After my time spent as an Chemical Analyst, I moved on to Education. Impacting the lives of young people in a positive way has always been a huge part of my life ambitions. Teaching turned me into a great communicator, executor and decision maker. With all the skills that I internalised during my career as an Analyst and a Teacher I am taking it towards bringing a positive impact on people's lives through property. Property investment has been present in my life since 2017. Many people have an interest in property investment but do not know where to start. I aspire to make property investment knowledge accessible to all. I am dedicated towards helping people build their property portfolios to whatever their goals may be.

Teaching here requires: an appreciation of the neurodiversity, an understanding of how all people's senses develop differently and the ability to reassure the children that they are safe and supported when they become dysregulated. At Riverside I have become a more confident teacher and drastically grown my abilities to work in a special needs setting. Riverside uses a personalised curriculum to support student's learning and development. As the Class Teacher it is my responsibility to develop a great understanding of my pupils and their areas of difficulty. I have become good at creating session that allow my students to experience opportunities to develop on their individual focus areas whilst working belonging in the group. Through differentiation and appropriate assessment for learning I have learnt to support the progress of my students towards their aspirations. Show less

Therefore I decided to join Impact Teachers as a Supply Teacher and work the next academic year as a supply teacher whilst the country adjusted to the new post COVID way of life. During my time as a Supply Teacher I got the opportunity to teach in a large variety of schools that I had not had experience in. Being a qualified secondary science teacher I was out of my comfort zone when I accepted jobs such as: primary teaching and special needs teaching. During the time I spent supply teaching I learnt how to teach using different resources and options like: SCERTS, Makaton, LOTC and Attention Autism approaches. Halfway through this year I accepted a full-time placement at a special needs school where I became more dedicated towards teaching students with complex needs and I took the oppotunity to refine my skills and teaching strategies. Meaning we all had to attend the full GCP training courses as there was a chance that we may need to work alongside the fellow DMPK analysts that were more involved in the ongoing clinical trials. I ran in-vitro and in vivo experiments and I was responsible for generating PAMPA, Microsomal Clearance, Protein Binding, Plasma Stability, Blood to Plasma Ratio and PK assays data. I ran my samples using various UPLC-MS systems and I also used a Hamilton robot frequently to carry out my assays. The data our team generated was fed back to the project teams on a monthly basis all of which I had the pleasure to be a part of. I was a very competent member of the team that took part in all aspect of the lab and its tasks. Besides my duties as an analyst such as: running experiments, processing MS data and writing reports and presentations. I also carried out tasks like: writing new SOPs for new and existing assays, developing new assays, ordering and logging in chemicals and solvents, cleaning up after myself and others, staying aware of the status of the fridges and freezers during out of work hours and carrying out the required GCP tasks before month end. Being on the DMPK team I became very familiar with the processing potential anti-cancer drug underwent before being made available to the public. Show less

I processed the chromatographic data my instrument generated and wrote the data up into a report format that was then passed onto our project managers who were in communication with our external clients. I was made responsible for the instrument I was using along with its functionality and chromatography. Therefore I became used to inspecting, cleaning and pay attention to its quality control charts before and after runs. Some of the instruments they had at SAL were old and often require more hands on maintenance. Therefore during my time there I also became good at understanding the mechanics of my analytical instruments. Openlab, LIMS and Neptune were programs I worked with. Show less
