It has made significant progress on the dropping of the reconciliation requirement for accounting standards in financial reporting; the reduction of SEC deregistration criteria and allowing broker-dealers to trade either side of the pond. But post-financial crisis, CMWG has tried to caution against protectionism and unco-ordinated or extra-territorial regulation.
