Senior People Reporting Executive
Hr Management Information Manager
I worked in the HR department at Forestry and Land Scotland, a newly created agency of the Scottish Government (which prior to devolution in April 2019 was a part of the Forestry Commission).I was the sole contact for management reporting from our personnel, payroll and learning & development systems. This involved daily communication with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to gather requirements, manage deadlines and communicate findings. I modernised the reporting suite, creating self-serve dashboards that enable managers to quickly answer any standard reporting queries, and helped to automate regular payroll processes, such as the calculation of holiday overtime payments (which was not supported by our payroll system). This provided an opportunity for me to work on more in-depth reporting and analysis, such as providing quarterly insight on key performance indicators to our senior executives.I supported the organisation in meeting regulatory requirements, such as quarterly returns of various HR data to the Office of National Statistics, and providing specific payroll reporting to meet end of year financial audit needs.From April 2018, I was also tasked with additional duties related to the administration of the pay and reward activities. This included pay modelling, presenting the Pay & Reward Manager and the HR Director with clearly defined permutations for various pay award strategies, and the monthly administration of our benefit packages, such as the Childcare Voucher scheme.
Platform Mi Developer
In my role as a Platform MI Developer I was responsible for developing and maintaining business reports. This involved querying our investor platform and writing stored procedures in SQL Server, that were then loaded onto the Internal Reports system through the Logi Analytics package. Our team were also responsible for developing reports for Independent Financial Advisers that enabled them to provide up to date and accurate advice based on the performance of their clients’ investments. I was involved in the daily monitoring and running of core team processes, such as the ETL procedures, run through the Control M system. This included dealing with errors and failures, improving performance of the process and overseeing regular change releases to the system.
Report Developer
As a Report Developer I was responsible for creating and designing customer and product reports. Liaising with stakeholders across various departments I captured detailed reporting requirements and worked to agreed timescales to deliver them. These reports covered various functions, such as supporting marketing and customer services campaigns, monitoring product performance and to enable compliance with regulatory requirements. This comprised the development of detailed, user-friendly dashboards using Business Objects and Microsoft Excel, including the use of SQL and VBA. A number of these were widely used and distributed throughout the business, as they provided a quick and easy way to view the subscriber base of any combination of the company’s product set, helping to drive decision-making at a senior level.

In this role I gained valuable experience of the wider Marketing department, assisting in the general running of offline and online campaigns and liaising with creative agencies.Following close work with the Digital Marketing team I applied and was accepted for a role as an Internet Marketing Assistant, for which my responsibilities included content management and general maintenance of the customer and corporate websites, and the running of email campaigns, working closely with a number of digital agencies.I also provided daily and weekly analytical reports using the Google Analytics platform, measuring website visitors and their journeys through the sites. The role also included involvement in planning and development of Pay Per Click and Search Engine Optimisation campaigns, for which I then provided weekly reporting to drive insight into the success of each.
