• Conduct forensic inspections of new and existing buildings per a directive from Governor Rell to assure work completed under the UCONN 2000 Program were code compliant and safe to occupy. Obtain evidence and prepare.
• Approve plans, specifications and standards for new construction and renovation projects at all University campuses.
• Keep inspection records and prepare reports for use by the State Building Inspector and judicial authorities.
• Inspect building systems including, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, means of egress, accessibility, structural components and other building systems covered by the building code during and after construction for.
• Create and administer Power Point training programs based on the National Electrical Code for University Facilities personnel.
• Attend construction meetings to communicate building code requirements for both outside contractors and University personnel.
