Primary responsibilities included: - Governance, including the secretariat service for two high-level committees, University Teaching Committee and Student Life Committee. - Policy and process development - Regulation, including responsibility for the University's response to Office for Students' regulatory expectations and associated data analysis. - Teaching Excellence Framework. I was the lead for TEF 2023, acting as project coordinator and co-lead author and editor for the University's 2023 TEF submission, which secured a Gold award. I was responsible for collecting much of the supporting evidence for this submission.

Working to support a range of learning and teaching projects for the University. Major achievements include:- designing a new and more agile process and procedure for the approval of new programmes (in collaboration with colleagues). I received a letter of commendation from the Vice Chancellor for this work. - during COVID-19, coordinating the University's response to accredited programmes, including the production of policy and guidance within 48 hours; producing complex and detailed guidance for departments on approaches to teaching during 2020/21, to high pressure and tight deadlines. I received a letter of commendation from the Vice-Chancellor for this work. - significant contributions to the University's move to a semesterised academic year and common module structure, including the design of the new structure and the design of a new policy framework. These contributions were recognised via a 'Rewarding Excellence' award. - Member of a Working Group on interdisciplinary teaching, developing a range of strategic proposals in this area. - successfully managing a pilot of the Subject TEF framework, across all departments and hundreds of academic and professional services staff. This involved coordinating a cross-institution team of 14 colleagues. The project was widely praised by departments and at University Executive Board. I was recognized through a 'Making a Difference' award for this work. - managing the 'Student Engagement Project', a project co-produced with students to investigate the factors that motivate and inhibit students' engagement in learning. Supervised 3 student interns. In-depth qualitative research with c. 250 students, in-depth quantitative research using SPSS. This led to a publication (see link for findings) and a workshop presentation.

Support for a range of quality assurance and enhancement activities at the University, including acting as a liaison for departments in the Faculty of Science and contributing to a wide range of developments in educational policy and procedure. Supported a number of senior colleagues and University Teaching Committee. During time in this role, I also acted as a tutor in the University's Writing Centre. Key achievements include: - I played key roles in implementation of the ‘York pedagogy’, a major aspect of the University’s Learning and Teaching Strategy, and in establishing the International Pathway College. - I developed University-wide policy and strategy on areas such as progression agreements, distance-learning PhDs, study abroad and work placements, working closely with the PVC for Teaching and Learning and other senior colleagues. - I directly supported a validated partnership and a number of proposed collaborative partnerships. - Analysis of student surveys, such as the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey. I was recognised for good performance through the Rewarding Excellence scheme (2017) and with two Making the Difference awards (2016 and 2018).

Responsible for supporting a wide range of developments in the University's educational policy and strategy, alongside support for three senior University committees. My role encompassed the following: • Provision of advice and guidance on policy and quality and standards issues to a range of senior staff, including PVCs, the Academic Registrar and Head of Colleges. Worked closely with heads of service within Academic Registry and Deans of Faculty.• Developed University-wide policy on a wide range of matters relating to the student experience, including work placements; international exchanges; mitigating circumstances; colleges and sport; fair access; and feedback, including writing and presenting reports.• Member and Secretary to three senior-level committees, including those responsible for the Education Strategy, the student experience and quality and standards. This included oversight of collaborative provision and direct support for a validated partnership. • Analysis and set-up of student surveys, such as the NSS and Student Experience Survey.• Supervision of Office Manager / PA to the Head of Academic Support OfficeI was awarded a bonus for exceptional contribution in this role.
