  Oversee the packaging and production of 500-700 different bags for various customers and products. Set up machines, order supplies, and repair and maintain equipment. Train and set up personnel and preventative maintenance on machines. Manage schedules and vacation for 22 staff. Audit machine setups, manage inventory, and monitor budget, including equipment and capital expenditures of $1M annually. Conduct all formal training, including forklift and lockout/tagout. Hired to take over plant due to significant inefficiencies and have been running company for the past 13 years. Significantly improved operations by running 4 machines and 3 shifts from 2 machines and 1 shift previously.Served as Lead Technician for the plant, improving efficiency of machines, as well as hiring, training, and developing a group of people.Reduced scrap by 7% by designing machines to run automatically and continuously move product without any interruption.Increased awareness and training around safety, resulting in almost two years since a reportable accident.Awarded Employee of the Year for taking over the plant and making a significant profit. Developed safety initiative, involving designing a machine to eliminate the complexity of starting and stopping and instead, automatically turning off and preventing operators from having to manually start and stop machines.
