I am a June 2016 UCSD graduate with a BS in Chemical Engineering with 6 months of experience as an engineering intern at Cytec/Solvay Composite Materials. I am currently looking for an entry level engineering position that will allow me to improve my skill set and work towards proficiency in one of the many fields that interest me. Despite my relative inexperience, I'm eager to learn and very motivated to work hard. The Chemical Engineering program at UCSD included selective lab work, of which I did a modelling study of LPCVD systems using COMSOL, analyzing mass transfer through a reverse osmosis membrane, liposome nanoparticle fabrication, study of a continuous rectification distillation system, and UV photocatalysis. I served as lead designer and presenter for my senior project, in which a group of four including me designed a hypothetical continuous reactor for Catalytic Carbon-Hydrogen on Demand system. The process uses a specially activated granular carbon, which we arranged in a monolith frame, and supplies small particles of aluminum in order to generate pure hydrogen.Following graduation I worked for 6 months as an Engineering Intern at Cytec/Solvay Composite Materials in Anaheim working with maintenance and production teams to improve efficiency and safety at the plant using OEE, CI, and 5S+1. I also maintained MMS and MoC systems to update electronic infrastructure and improve standardization. The major challenges of the position and the majority of my work were working to update out of date systems, documentation, and software to improve the plant's efficiency while adhering to the tight controls of the Aerospace industry.
