DAVID GIRONDavid Giron serves as the Environment, Climate and Energy Policy Advisor for Councilmember Bob Blumenfield.David began his career in public service in 2010 with Councilmember Paul Koretz, working at the front desk, then as a field deputy and finally as a legislative staffer at City Council. David also worked for Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell for 10 years, starting as Legislative Director and becoming his Senior Advisor. His policy interests led to him running the Energy and Environment Committee on behalf of the Councilmember. His legislative accomplishments include the landmark LA100 plan, a nation-leading effort to bring the City of Los Angeles to 100% carbon-free energy by 2035, and replacing Columbus Day with Indigenous Peoples’ Day in 2017.David holds a BA in Political Science with a minor in Constitutional Law from California State University, Los Angeles (CSUN). He is a lifelong Angeleno, the first generation son of immigrants from El Salvador. His mother has been a custodian in Los Angeles for over 30 years and is a proud member of SEIU-USWW.

The Chief Administrative Officer, Office of Finance and City Controller all report to this committee, as well as the City Attorney's Office as it relates to lawsuits filed against the City.Staff the Councilmember at the Transportation Committee: This committee deliberates over City wide issues as they relate to traffic, movement of cars, public transportation and pedestrian movement. All structural improvements such as the 405 FWY expansion, EXPO line and Subway to the sea must come before this body--Metro, Caltrans and the Department of Transportation (city of LA) report to this committee.
