I work for the Chairman of the City Budget, Bob Blumenfield. My job is to fund and push forward policies that will decarbonize and electrify the entire city by 2035.

Directed Policy and Legislation for Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell:--Chair of the Arts, Entertainment, Parks and River Committee--Member of the Ad Hoc Olympics Committee--Member of the Energy, Climate, and Environmental Justice Committee--Member of Innovation, Technology and General Services Committee--Member of Public Safety CommitteeStaffed the CM at all committees and on the Council floor, while directing the legislative team and assisting the CM in crafting policy and legislation that betters the communities of Hollywood, East Hollywood, Historic Filipino Town, Korea Town, Glassell Park, Atwater Village, Echo Park, Elysian Park, Little Armenia, Silver Lake and Thai Town.

Staff the Councilmember when the City Council is in session. The City Council of Los Angeles meets three times a week to deliberate, update and pass laws, act as the administrative and jurisdictional body of the City and listen to the general public on all matters pertinent to the welfare of the citizenry within the borders of Los Angeles.Staff the Councilmember on the Budget and Finance Committee; the B&F Committee meets once a week to go over closed session items, as well as open session items, pertaining but not limited to:City liability, levying taxes, proposing revenue generating ordinances, deliberating over the Mayor's annual budget and passing a proposed budget to the full Council, discussing general matters of fiscal and financial means and ensuring that the finances of the City are open, fair and stable. The Chief Administrative Officer, Office of Finance and City Controller all report to this committee, as well as the City Attorney's Office as it relates to lawsuits filed against the City.Staff the Councilmember at the Transportation Committee: This committee deliberates over City wide issues as they relate to traffic, movement of cars, public transportation and pedestrian movement. All structural improvements such as the 405 FWY expansion, EXPO line and Subway to the sea must come before this body--Metro, Caltrans and the Department of Transportation (city of LA) report to this committee.

Represented the Councilmember at the communities of South Robertson (Crestview, Beverlywood, Castle Heights, Pico-Robertson, Roxbury-Beverwil), MarVista(Westside Village) and Palms. Directly communicate the goals and objects of the Councilmember to various City agencies and deliver services to the community. Speak on behalf of the Councilmember at any number of Neighborhood Association meetings, business organizations, Home-Owner meetings and religious/other entities.Was the direct liaison between the Department of Recreation and Parks, the Department of Cultural Affairs, the Department on Aging and the Department on Health and cover the legislative council committee Arts, Parks, Health and Aging. Delivered major recreation and parks projects including land acquisition, grant writing and redevelopment on infrastructure. Other tasks include speech writing and organizing special community events. While still in the field and during the City Budget month of April, was placed as special assistant to the Legislative Deputy to cover the following: Department of Rec and Parks, Library, Zoo, Cultural Affairs, Aging, Health, MICLA, Animal Services, El Pueblo and Disability.

Managed all aspects of campaign for the re election of Paul Koretz to the City Council of Los Angeles. Councilmember Koretz won the election with 74% of the vote.--Wrote and helped design mail pieces--Worked with print and mail publications (slates, newspapers)--Was responsible for all communications to and from the campaign--Liaison with other elected offices and political/community groups --Ran the ground campaign including volunteers, signature gathering, walking events and targeted precinct communications --Worked directly with the Councilmember on strategy, outreach and message--Helped put together a 1-1 debate with opponent Mark HerdResponsible for maintaining a professional campaign while ensuring that the Councilmember's message of an efficient, accomplished first term was communicated to the voters of the Fifth Council District. Directly worked with the Councilmember on every aspect of the campaign, from lawn sign production and printing, to precinct-walk preparation and signature gather (to qualify for the ballot), to strategy and outreach as it pertained to debates and campaign communications.Direct liaison for the Councilmember and other elected officials, political organizations, community groups and the Democratic Party of Los Angeles.

Managed clients for three slate products, and translated communications between English and Spanish for certain targeted pieces of mail.This company was focused on delivering campaign victories for clients while producing top tier slate mailers that reached hundreds of thousands of people throughout the State of California: senior citizens, women and latinos.My direct duties were:--Direct communications with clients for slate opportunities--First hand translations for the Latino slate and other latino communications--Managed client portfolios for better targeted communications

Managed and collected on accounts for various financial partners.-Worked with various banks and business on account recovery-Worked closely with legal and high dollar depts. on strategies to bring back returns-Consistently was a top collector within my division***Most importantly, I helped people come out of debt with a safe plan that was both helpful to them and to our company.

In home tutor with No Child Left Behind grant funds.Tutored English and Mathematics to Engish as a Second Language students who attended the bottom 40% of schools within the LAUSD boundary. Had as many as 4 students for a minimum of 10 hours a week for 3 months at a time. Covered grades K-12, but focused mostly on 3rd and 4th grades, middle school and high school. I was responsible for:--A detailed state approved curriculem--Documented lessons that mirrored whatever the child was learning in school--Frequent conversations and input from parents (often having the parent sit in)--An increase in both academic expentations and actual performanceThe students were tested at both the beginning and at the end of the teaching periods (First class session and last class session), and were also frequently tested by State approved "mini tests" that I developed.

Assisted the Chief Legislative Deputy in Council matters, and helped put together the Shakeout Conference in 2008 for the City of LA.
