• HVAC Problem Detection Project (CIPP)Proof of concept project to detect issues with commercial HVAC systems (Running at Smyrna SE Facility). Developed and deployed a solution using Schneider PLC’s (M251) to collect HVAC data and store in a MySQL database. The algorithm detects issues with the HVAC system such as low Freon levels, clogged filters, frosted evaporators. The proof of concept is additionally being deployed at the SE Monterrey, MX facility.• Wiser Air Thermostat (Eco IQ Algorithm)Supported the development of the Eco IQ learning algorithm that was implemented into the production Wiser Air thermostat. Eco IQ used machine learning to adapt to user preferences and comfort levels without programming while minimizing energy use. Four Patents pending (see below)• Efficient Home / WiserEfficient Home was a global SE program in home automation.Responsible for working with product development, marketing, program management and test automation teams to establish comprehensive test plans to ensure that the product solution would meet the specifications and customer expectations.Created a custom dashboard that linked requirements, test procedures and test results in a simple Excel based format. The dashboard was used to report status to program management, team members and senior management on a regular basis.

• Residential Power Monitoring (RPM)The RPM project monitored and analyzed residential energy consumption. Applications were developed to collect and analyze the data. Dashboards were developed to provide users with detailed information about their energy consumption.Several focus groups were conducted to collect user feedback to better understand customer requirements.Technologies used in the project include – Modbus communication, VB.net application to sample data, MS SQL database for storing data and ASP.Net web interface to display results and analysis.

ISO Management Representative just months before our triennial audit by UL. With the support of other experienced auditors at the corporate level, we completed the triennial audit with only 2 observations. Trained as lead auditor and then trained a new group of 12 internal auditors. Conducted internal audits twice a year and reported results the Quality Leadership Team (QLT). Developed a custom tool using Excel and VBA to aid internal auditors in conducting and recording audit results. Organized and facilitated external audits by UL twice a year, plus triennial audits.

Designed and developed a relational database (MS SQL) to support project requirements. Established and maintained PC platforms to support production and development SQL server systems. Developed a web interface using (ASP) for administrative tasks and for employees to enter and track their time for specific projects. Worked with contractors to develop a desktop application for managers to enter resource planning information based on programs, projects and people. Developed reporting tools using ASP and Excel allowing management and finance to view planned vs. actual project resource time and expense. Conducted training classes for engineering groups across North America to deploy the product internally.

Test engineer supporting new product development of AC Drive Controllers 1hp to 400hp (ATV66, ATV58, ATV28 and option boards). Supported electronics development, thermal testing and UL certification. Designed a test automation tool (EATS – Excel Automated Test Systems) using SE PLCs, Modbus communication and GPIB communication for laboratory instruments. The tool was created in Excel using VBA modules that allowed technicians to create automated test scripts. The EATS tool provided a repeatable and rapid automated test system. Products verified and validated for production release include AC Variable Speed Drives and Options, PLC Products, Networked I/O Control Products, Arc Fault Circuit Breakers, Advanced Motor Starters and Overloads that include configurable I/O and communications. The EATS tool is still being used today for test automation.Received PWMD (People Who Make a Difference) award for efforts on the project.
