UK Engineering Manager at Emerson Automation Solutions. This role includes the recruitment of new Engineering staff as well as setting the long term strategy of the team in line with the overall Emerson business objectives. Full P&L control for an Engineering group grossing ~350,000hrs/year.

Programme Management for (>£15M) Large Main Automation Contractor programmes, including management of Integrated Software Control and Safety System, Medium Voltage Electrical Project, Valves and Instrumentation Project, Subsea Control Project and Extensive Telecommunications Project. Includes full cost and budget control, risk management, stakeholder management, onshore and offshore team management (>50) and ultimately responsible for all Emerson business. Led Emerson UK Projects Department for final 12 months. World Area advisor for Emerson’s Project Management Office (PMO), team member involved in the conception, implementation, testing and rollout of new PMO tools and processes.

Responsibilities include commercial management of large main automation contractor projects which includecontrol of multiple Emerson business units along with substantial buyouts. Project execution includes FEED, Pre-Execute, Execute and Commissioning.

Responsibilities include full commercial control and technical management of automation projects within the Automotive Industry. Client facing role negotiating time, cost and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Electrical Design of engine test and automation equipment using AutoCAD and ELCAD, including full design and test documentation. Programming, installation and commissioning of automation systems including PLCs, Robots, Drive systems and SCADAs.

Small to Medium size process improvement projects to maximise productivity of a fully automated windscreen manufacturing plant. Control of Maintenance activities for a third of the Manufacturing facility. Technical support to the maintenance technicians, including on-call rota.

EITB accredited 4 year technical apprenticeship.
