Key duties and responsibilities include: • Managing the editorial (editors, sub-editors and designers) team’s workload and budget effectively, to meet deadlines and maintain ILN’s exceptional standards.• This role is very much a client facing role with regular client meetings.• Commissioning a wide range of photographers, stylists and illustrators. I have also photographed many images for ILN publications myself.• Overseeing the production process, including checking proofs, marking up corrections and print management.• Pitch work: in mid-2016 the Aston Martin contract came back up for tender and I was heavily involved in the repitch, against eight competitors over a period of three months. Ultimately, the ideas are executed by the best photographers and illustrators to the highest finished quality across potentially all Hearst titles and websites.• I frequently organise and direct photo shoots and the commissioning of illustrators. I have experience across a wide variety of design mediums including: magazines, books, look books, posters, web sites, emails, logos and videos.• Working with tight deadlines and under pressure I have had to be dynamic and resourceful, often producing my own photographic imagery, illustration and info graphics.• I have a detailed knowledge of in-house repro and digital proofing.
