As part of my role at JigsawPlus, I managed multi million pound budgets, generated financial forecasts and operational oversight. It was my responsibility to deliver the service against budget, restructuring for efficiencies, overseeing staff training and wellbeing, and continually endeavouring to improve the quality of the support provided. This role required that I work closely with a number of key stakeholders including HR, Finance, Fundraising and alongside the CEO. As part of the Trust Leadership Group, I have supported the development of the 5-year strategy for the Trust as a whole.

Following my time with BEAM, I founded REAL Focus Limited. Within 6 months of start-up, REAL Focus was acquired by Dimensions (UK). Dimensions is a large social care provider in the UK, with an annual turnover in excess of £135M per annum, at that time. As part of the acquisition, I became the Director for Dimensions - REAL Focus, with a particular focus on embedding REAL Focus into the Dimensions family. This position required that I set and manage budgets effectively, manage financial forecasts, design and implement Business and Delivery Plans. I sat on the Leadership Group within Dimensions shaping and implementing a new strategy for the entire organisation.

I was the co-founder and Director of Operations and Business Manager (Registered Manager) for BEAM Clinic Limited (later known as BEAM ABA Services). We provided specialist respite services for children and young adults with an Autistic Spectrum Condition. With BEAM Clinic, I built up a successful, quality and outcome-based business model, which supported 30 staff, achieving an annual turnover of £600K+ within the first 12 months of start-up. I was responsible for all aspects of business planning, financial projections and forecasting, managing budgets, P&L, and routinely analysing our performance to ensure we were successfully delivering against our set goals.

I have worked as a SENCO at TreeHouse School. I was the ABA Consultant leading on the educational programming (IEPs), conducting FBAs and designing Behaviour Support Plans for behaviours both in excess and deficit. Those that I have supported have aged between 18 months and 50 years. I had a pioneering lead role in designing a system to successfully transition the inaugural school leavers by preparing them for adult life and further education. This role required that I liaise frequently with families, social services, NHS representatives, Local Education Authorities, Educational Psychologists and Complex Needs Panels. At this time, I was the Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) for 12 pupils, I was responsible for coordinating the special education needs (SEN) for each of those 12 pupils. I worked integrally as part of a multi-disciplinary team, coordinating SaLT, OT and Qualified Teacher input ensuring that the needs of each pupil were met and in accordance with their statement of SEN.

Completing a Masters in Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), while working full time as an ABA Supervisor and ABA Consultant, provided me with a great opportunity to both learn the theoretical principles behind human behaviour while also putting these principles into practice on a day-to-day basis. It gave me the opportunity to conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) and subsequently design, develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). Combining both the PG Dip and a Masters while holding a full-time position helped me to develop my ability to manage my time and prioritise effectively.
