Highly skilled lead attorney, negotiator and business advisor with broad experience in energy and infrastructure project development, including development, construction, acquisition and financing of cryogenic air separation plants, methanol plants, power projects (fossil and renewable), LNG facilities, gas pipelines, transmission lines and other energy and infrastructure projects. Extensive experience structuring, drafting and negotiating engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreements and turbine and other major equipment purchase agreements. In private practice at Skadden and in-house at Air Liquide, I have advised clients on contracting and negotiating strategies, preparing requests for proposals, conducting bidder meetings and Q&A sessions, evaluating legal, commercial and technical aspects of bid proposals, negotiating project development contracts with multiple bidders to facilitate competitive negotiation environments, advising project directors and senior executives on project execution and claims matters, negotiating claims and project close-out settlements, and assisting in matters in arbitration and litigation. I have interfaced directly with executive management and boards of directors in connection with development, execution and close-out of major projects. I have also advised project developers, owners and lenders in energy project disputes. I have negotiated project and equipment contract terminations, cancellations and assignments, and I have participated in end-of-project dispute resolution, including multi-party dispute resolution and settlement negotiations, and prepared and negotiated various settlement agreements.From 2008 through 2013, while continuing to represent clients in energy project development matters, I sailed with my family on our 41' sailboat "Liberty" over 20,000 nautical miles, traveling extensively in the Bahamas, US East Coast and Eastern Caribbean. I continue to sail Liberty in Texas waters.
