I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Signal Theory, Communications and Telematics Engineering at the University of Valladolid (Spain), where I have worked since 2005. I have teached courses on Computer Programming, Real-Time Systems, Computer Architecture, and Telematic Services in Next Generation Netwoks for the Degree and Master in Telecommunications Engineering.I am a member of the research group “Imaging and Telematic Group (GTI)” in the Department of Signal Theory, Communications and Telematics Engineering at the University of Valladolid (Spain) since 2003.My research interests focus on neural and adaptive computer vision architectures and systems to detect and track human body parts in real time and color image segmentation and recognition and its implementation in Graphics Processing Units and the development of driving simulators with driver monitoring through computer vision and physiological sensors. I have also worked on neural architectures for traffic control and e-health applications.I have been a researcher in 8 research projects from competitive calls: 2 national and 4 regional projects.I have been the main researcher in 2 national projects from competitive calls.I have been a researcher in 14 non-competitive research projects with public or private entities.I have been author of 33 indexed scientific papers: 12 indexed in SCI-JCR (6 indexed in Q1) and 21 indexed in Scopus-JCRI am a reviewer of 22 international scientific journals, from which 13 journals are indexed in SCI-JCR.
