As a member of the Transdev Wellington leadership team I am responsible for all people-related matters in the new Transdev Wellington business, running the Greater Wellington Rail Service. That task begins with managing a smooth transition with Kiwirail and GWRC. We will be engaging fully with existing employees and stakeholders, both internal and external, to get good quality outcomes that will support a Great Wellington Rail Service for all.

I also work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure that strategic planning keeps NZ Bus ahead of the curve.Core activities include: design, development and delivery of a performance management framework for all positions from bus driver to C-level; strategic recruitment; organisational design; managing restructures; coaching for all people leaders; remuneration reviews; talent and succession planning; managing union relationships; resolving employment relationship problems; utilisation of HRIS resources; managing external relationships.NZ Bus takes a very active approach to workplace culture. My team and I are very pleased to be involved in this space and we understand that every system, process and individual transaction within the HR sphere has some influence on the NZ Bus culture. We take a considered approach to every activity and outcome for which we are responsible, to be sure that we have the workplace culture that we prefer.Achievements:Designed and implemented a balanced score card linking to The NZ Bus operating strategy, company values and personal development.Restructured the operations division to include a people leadership position linking to individual bus drivers for the first time in 100 years. We then coached and developed entry level managers who had in many cases never led a team before. We now have a career pathway from driver to supervisor and most of that recruitment is now internal.Managed the introduction of new on-bus technology to ensure that people and culture would be positively impacted.
