• I pioneered the strategic development of the first dedicated Spinal Cord Injury Unit for Children in the UK (Thames Valley Regional Award 2005 for Service Development).• I led the development and delivery of a 5-year strategy to restore the reputation of the Trust flagship – the National Spinal Injuries Centre, (NSIC), as a leading specialist centre within the NHS and abroad.• I developed robust income generation strategies through marketing, planned expansion and realignment of specialist commissioning contracts, increasing income by £8 Million per annum within 3 years.• In 2004 I led the NSIC in adopting and realigning to the CARF (Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) framework, a set of internationally approved standards for Medical Rehabilitation and the Spinal Cord System of Care. In 2008 the NSIC was the first NHS facility to receive 3 year Carf accreditation.• I developed a mandate for change through the patients that helped challenge and modernise services at the NSIC. (Highly commended in Thames Valley Regional Award 2005 ‘Getting the message’).
