My company provides consultancy to NHS and Non-NHS healthcare organisations supporting strategic business development and corporate operations especially in the field of specialist rehabilitation for catastrophic injuries and other life changing long term conditions.

Insignia Academy Trust was formed from Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School Academy Trust as it moved from a single Academy Trust into the founding school of the Multi-Academy Trust known as Insignis Academy Trust.

• Pioneered partenership between the National Spinal Injuries Centre and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in 2012 to develop the first dedicated spinal injuries centre in East Africa at Moshi, Tanazania• Hosted a visit of the Global Business Summit on Advances in Assistive Technology – Business is Great Britain – National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital September 2012.• Delivered £7.2M (10%)recurrent cost reduction programme over two years across Clinical Support Services • Delivered £4.3M (20%) recurrent cost improvement programme over two years in Spinal Injuries • Managed income and expenditure budgets in excess of £53M per annum and 1000 professional staff• Centralised Pathology services (Infection Sciences 2011; Cell Sciences 2012 and Blood Sciences 2012)• Centralised Breast Screening Services 2012• Nominated Trust representative on the National Spinal Cord Injury Strategy Board.• Nominated member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Spinal Cord Injury.

• Appointed by the CEO to project direct the mission critical Foundation Trust application, delivering simultaneously on all aspects of the project in order that key submissions i.e. Integrated Business Plan, Long Term Financial Model, Constitution, Membership Strategy and Governance Rationale were ready, fully integrated and continually refined at each phase of the application to budget and on time.• I undertook the comprehensive market assessment that informed Trust strategy and service plans, providing detailed activity and financial modelling for repatriation and growth within the Long Term Financial Model.• I prepared the Board for a successful SHA Board to Board in April 2009 - “Best prepared and best performance of a Board seen by South Central”. Submission to Department of Health May 2009. Due to an accounting issue regarding a forward land sale in the 2008/9 accounts the application was deferred.

• Appointed by the Chief Operating Officer to manage the critical turnaround programme for the Trust.• Delivered the Trust’s £16.5 million (6%) turnaround programme enabling it to achieve an I&E surplus of £1.7 million. This success provided a key component in driving forward the Trust FT application.• As a drive to reduce costs through service efficiency and deliver 18 week RTT pathways, I became a trained facilitator in ‘Lean’ methodology, (through the ATOS/Unipart alliance), and was part of the team that achieved regional recognition at 2007/8 ‘Celebrating Success’ awards.

• I pioneered the strategic development of the first dedicated Spinal Cord Injury Unit for Children in the UK (Thames Valley Regional Award 2005 for Service Development).• I led the development and delivery of a 5-year strategy to restore the reputation of the Trust flagship – the National Spinal Injuries Centre, (NSIC), as a leading specialist centre within the NHS and abroad.• I developed robust income generation strategies through marketing, planned expansion and realignment of specialist commissioning contracts, increasing income by £8 Million per annum within 3 years.• In 2004 I led the NSIC in adopting and realigning to the CARF (Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) framework, a set of internationally approved standards for Medical Rehabilitation and the Spinal Cord System of Care. In 2008 the NSIC was the first NHS facility to receive 3 year Carf accreditation.• I developed a mandate for change through the patients that helped challenge and modernise services at the NSIC. (Highly commended in Thames Valley Regional Award 2005 ‘Getting the message’).
