He has worked closely with the Department of Health, and has been a major contributor to the development of national standards for healthcare cleanliness and catering services. His publications include PAS 5748, the British Standard for Hospital Cleanliness (British Standards Institute 2011, rev. 2014), and the NHS Cleaning Manual (National Patient Safety Agency, 2011, rev. 2015). David has contributed to the recent Standards for Cleaning and Catering Services in the NHS. David is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality.
