Geophysical Scientist/ Natural Resource Scientist
CurrentGeophysicist team member for Washington State's SSSP (School Seismic Safety Project), whose responsibilities include: Deployment of geophysical instrumentation, Collection of geophysical data, and Processing of field data to determine seismic velocities, ground shaking potential, and conversion of data into dispersion curves, for school campus locations across the entire state. Ensure the management and processing of field data to be aligned with WGS data standards.Field equipment maintenance, site reconnaissance, and scheduling.Determine subsurface geological conditions and resilience, as well as potential seismic ground shaking at statewide school campus locations, using 1D MASW and MAM geode seismometer 24-channel arrays and active generation of surface wave attenuation and propagation in order to determine shear wave phase-velocity measurements.
