I provide statutory development assessment and compliance services, professional advice and support to internal and external stakeholders. I contribute to the implementation and continual improvement of Council's planning scheme and policies, ensuring the development of the Maranoa Region accords with relevant legislation, policies and Council's corporate plan.

Dsdilgp - Ipswich & Toowoomba

I worked in the Planning and Development Services division in the Planning Group which contributes to regional development through statutory and strategic land use planning services provided by the department in regional settings. I was based within teams in the SEQW Region Ipswich and DDSW Region Toowoomba Offices. These teams deliver customer-focussed, high-quality town planning and development outcomes for current and future Queensland communities.

I exercised managerial responsibility for the Development Compliance section. This included coordinating the development compliance functions for the planning compliance, building compliance, and searches teams comprising twelve (12) full time equivalent employees. I managed the Development Compliance team to perform in an efficient, effective, and customer focused way to provide service delivery in an ‘ePlanning’ environment. This was reliant on my solutions and outcomes orientated mindset with significant experience in negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution, investigations, and enforcement.

I was responsible for developing, formulating, designing, maintaining, and facilitating the implementation of effective and efficient development application processing and business systems and procedures. I was also responsible for providing guidance, advice, and support to other branch members through coaching and mentoring to share ideas and expertise for improvements in business systems, work procedures and practices and service delivery. I reported to and worked under limited direction of the Manager.

I was responsible for providing a high standard of technical expertise and advice to ensure effective and efficient management of the development assessment process, complex development applications, development enquiries and other development related matters. I worked under limited direction supervising a team of four (4) Planners. I was also responsible for the provision of support to the Principal Planner with the coordination, leadership, and mentoring of the development assessment planning team.

Sunshine Coast

I was responsible for master planning of new communities, preparation of local area plans, preparation of planning applications under limited supervision. I was also responsible creating and building good, positive, and constructive professional working relationships with the local governments on the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, and Moreton Bay regions. This role also included compliance and auditing functions of both proposed and constructed development to ensure it was in accordance with statutory planning documents and Stockland development covenants.

I was responsible for providing a high standard of technical expertise and advice to ensure effective and efficient management of the development assessment process, complex development applications, development enquiries and other development related matters. I worked under limited direction supervising a team of four (4) Planners. I was responsible for the provision of support to the Coordinator DAF with the leadership and mentoring of the development assessment planning team.

I was responsible for the provision of effective services, and for integrated development assessment outcomes to ensure key corporate, departmental, and operational objectives in the interests of the community. Specifically, I was part of a team of three (3) who were responsible for the effective provision of information and advice to customers, investigation, and enforcement in relation to land use matters. I also assessed and prepared reports on development applications in accordance with legislative obligations and requirements and assessed building application for compliance against the Planning Scheme (i.e. prior to private certification in 1998).
