Redesigned and implemented credit and collateral risk frameworks and pricing models preceding the credit crisis. Such tools were used to prevent losses on secured and unsecured loans and enabled the Bank to support stressed members while demonstrating that advances were fully collateralized and to make relevant financial statement assertions in SEC filings. During this period, the collateral pool was composed of about $300 billion of illiquid Alt A and Option ARM and second residential mortgages. Avoided unsecured credit loss from Lehman Brothers of $500 million by eliminating credit limit and fully collateralizing derivative exposures.• Designed credit risk framework for the acquisition of private residential MBS which limited the risk profile of purchases and required the Bank to obtain additional credit enhancement senior to AAA tranches for purchases beginning in 2004.
