National Resources Project Manager
Managing a dispersed team, leading them to adapt to changing senior management teams and adjusting the processes within the team to meet the new requirements of the leadership while enhancing standardisation of the team deliverables. Enhanced data management, project management, introduced expanded informative data sets to inform leadership of risks, Vs opportunities at each site for multiple geological, geotechnical, extractive, and planning risks. Site actions of resource investigation, mine planning, geotechnical reviews, stripping for extractive development all developed collaboratively to further clarify needs at all sites for investment of time or capital to strengthen the performance of the operations.Accelerated the move to cloud data storage and live access rather than older LAN/Wan networks.Acquisition target assessment at multiple sites was undertaken. The focus was geology, geotechnical and compliance risks, including stored silt, elongate mineral particles, reporting on compliance to approved disturbance using drone technology combined with GIS. Provided advice and recommendations on the issues noted. Worked closely with all members of acquisition teams to deliver a cohesive and substantive recommendation on the opportunity.
Manager Resources Planning And Development
Responsibilities included the resource and mine planning functions within Boral quarries nationally. The initiation of JORC compliance at all sites, while building on the wealth of data which had been created in the preceding 2 decades. Standardisation of actions including but not limited to data management, resource and reserve development, mine planning and focusing the team on delivering flexible solutions for resource, reserve and quarry development. Widening of the consideration of all resources at each site outside the approved extraction surrounding and below, to compile a complete record of what resources exist on each site. The addition of quality aspects of the resources used to predict all products a site could produce. This led into an ongoing expansion capability to deliver products to meet market demand, accessing sectors not met previously. Enhance and expanded resource data supported further capital investment at key sites.Safety of excavation was the primary mining focus of the team, supporting all sites with sharing of experience within and from outside Boral to improve haulage, edge protection, geotechnical risk management. Optimisation of operations to reduce operating costs and delaying expansion of fleet where latent capacity exists.Mentoring a diverse group of employees one geology, geotechnical, resource and reserve opportunities to highlight the benefits the company's network could develop.
Resource Project Manager National Resource Management
A Queensland region focused role, primarily with additional responsibility for geology and mine planning in the Northern territory and Western Australia. JORC processes were introduced in this period with the initial data collation and data base developed for security of data integrity.Reviews of two construction materials businesses during this period resulting in the recommendations to proceed with the acquisitions from a resource perspective.Deeply integrated into a landfill assessment of a Brisbane quarry as an internal reviewer of external work proposals.A member of the Boral team working to win the construction materials supply to the Abbot Point MFP proposal by the QLD Govt, team achieved final 2 level when the whole project was shelved by the Government. The Boral Team had also looked beyond the project specific aspects and looked at the flow on affects in the region with a separate quarry opportunity being developed to operate post MPL project.Presented at two IQA annual safety seminars, QLD and Tasmania on aspects of enhanced management of geotechnical risk in quarries.
Senior Geologist - National Overlay
This role was a national role within Boral that had a responsibility to both address local immediate issues but to also look at the wider network and bring similar processes to a regionalised business model.Communicating to the Regional General Managers was paramount in identifying opportunity and garnering support for change at many sites. Commenced developing a standard resource /reserve process which was more detailed while being tempered by the need to avoid developing an overly complicated process.Introducing mining concepts of resource and mine planning in a standard format while also customising for the various local quarry geology aspects and striving to prove the value of strong and aligned geological knowledge and mine planning / scheduling to the quarry network. The economics of quarries Vs metals mines drove changes in approach to this opportunity to adapt the concepts to the quarries on an individual basis, while remaining focused on a standardised set of target parameters.Migration of data from 75% hard copy to digital and being able to share data among the national team and the regional geologists was a primary objective. Adjusting databases, mine design file types and records in documents became an important outcome for Boral.

The project identified a resource of >300 Mt of acceptable grade copper in areas not previously mined.Managed the early pilot hole phase of the Southern vent shaft from surface to 700m below surface to replace other failing shafts.
