The team was renamed and I was put in place as it's team leader.Managing the day to day work of the team, the projects within and the supplier and partner relationships, both technical and commercial.Our first large project was to migrate our hosting from a UK based partner to a company within Bauer based in Krakow Poland. Which we then worked with the development team to maintain and manage all associated services.Later I also led a push to make the wider infrastructure teams aware of the opportunities on the horizon from cloud based services such as AWS, and asking the team members to consider how we might make use of those services in the future.

The role involved all of the day to day aspects of my substantive post but with the extra layer of leadership/mentoring responsibilities for the other members of the team and management of our supplier relationships.My time included a series of challenging issues, including staff being moved inward and outward to other parts of the business, migration of the whole team to a different parent department. Relocation of offices, recruitment/management of contractors and redundancy processes.I also gained the opportunity to spend more time in direct contact with internal senior management and building and improving relationships between the team and our customers/suppliers.

But through it's duration I became more involved in various projects which allowed me to demonstrate my abilities to organise, stay calm, and deliver under pressure.Over time this included take a lead on some projects and covering for the team leader when they were on leave.In 2008 I joined the project team working on the split of the web hosting environments for the two companies (EMAP and Bauer) which each took part ownership of EMAP PLCs (as was) businesses. Being involved in this project from a much earlier stage gave me a chance to be involved in every aspect from specification and procurement through to contractual negotiations and then planning, configuration and delivery.
