David has over forty years of experience in financing and operating entrepreneurial businesses as a principal investor and lead operating financial executive. From 2003-2020, David has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ENVISAGE Technologies, an industry leader in complex scheduling and training optimization technologies for government clients. He was the lead investor from 2004-2014 until a recapitalization of Envisage was completed with a regional family office. Envisage was recapitalized in 2020 by Norwest Venture Partners and was acquired by Vector Solutions, a GenStar and Insight Partners backed company, in 2022. David’s current business interests include being the principal owner of Clifty Branch Farms, an owner operator of private forestlands in southern Indiana; and, Haeberle Investments, a principal investment firm that invests directly and indirectly in a variety of private entrepreneurial businesses. David is Chairman and control owner of The Bicycle Station which is a cycling business serving cycling enthusiasts focused on omni-channel Retail development and practices. He is also Chairman of Hoadley Quarries which is a family-owned limestone quarry and mill as well as a board member of BloomingPaws, Flippr, and Doriot Venture Labs.David is also Clinical Professor of Finance with Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. He founded the Kelley School’s Investment Banking Network in 2002 which has helped place over 1,600 Kelley School students in investment banking and private equity roles with Wall Street firms. David currently teaches venture capital and entrepreneurial finance, is the Director of the Kelley School’s Private Equity Program, and Chairman & President of Crimson Equity Partners a university affiliated student run for-profit private equity fund.David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, a Master in Business Administration, and Jurisprudence Doctorate, all from the Kelley School and the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University.
