Creative Director, Documentary Film Producer, Scriptwriter, Copywriter, Recording Artist. After abandoning the academic career that seemed inevitable, in 1976, I lived and worked in the UK, Morocco, France, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Qatar, and Sharjah. In 1978 I founded Editorial Design Consultants Ltd. in London with the late Peter Dunbar, longtime Art Director of The Economist. My ex- and children having moved back to Canada, I did the same in 1990, to be a father. From then until the present, I have produced documentary films, owned and run a film and video editing facility, written and recorded 4 albums of my own Roots music, and maintained a roster of advertising clients. Because the Canadian documentary industry provides only a semi-decent income, I became a cannabis grower in 2004, and supplied The Victoria Cannabis Buyers Club until 2018. Presently I'm putting together a band to record with, and writing original documentary film treatments. Since I'm constitutionally unable to even think of retiring, I'm looking for contract work in any, or ideally several, of my areas of competence.
