Since 1980, I’ve worked on over 90 Films, dozens of TV series, 100’s of TV commercials and more Music Videos than I care to remember…as an Art Director, Location Scout, Set Carpenter, Props, Site Rep, Stage Manager and Producer. After working for seven years in Public Relations for Arco (Atlantic Richfield Co) as a Staff Photographer in Los Angeles... in 1980 I was finally able to jump ship and land in the trenches of Hollywood and thus began a new career in Live Action Film Production. With an Art & Film education, I started in the Art Department, but soon found myself doing more and more work with the Locations Dept. Having a solid Photography background, I was soon Scouting for Film Locations and then, like so many others in this crazy business, had become a "hybrid" of various skills and an independent "Gun for Hire" to both departments. Acquiring a Real Estate License in 1999 only helped to push me further into Locations, and before long I was soon representing Home & Business Owners as their "Location Site Rep" whenever a Production showed interest in using my Client's property. Before long I was managing the Stages at Playa Vista and then Malibu Locations, Inc. Today I'm delighted to be the Film Liaison for the City of Palmdale, a remote bedroom community located within the newly extended "Secondary" Studio Zone and only an hour north of Los Angeles. Palmdale is in the Antelope Valley region of the Mojave Desert and it has a lengthy legacy and rich History of major Film Productions, standing in for Exotic Desert Locations since the early Silent Film days (from Biblical Epics to Westerns).Today it's currently being used for it's remote landscapes for a wide variety of Films, TV shows (such as the Fox production of Mayans MC) and countless TV commercials.
