 Led a team of 3 Engineering Supervisors and 26 Engineers (Electrical / Mechanical / BMS Controls / Fabric Engineers), monitored performance and ensured the consistent achievement of deliverables. Ensured that the team had the necessary strategies, training and development plans to consistently achieve in line with business objectives. Responsibility for all critical systems management and maintenance, including HV / LV Power supplies, Cooling systems, Fire Alarms, BMS, Standby Power Systems and LV Switch Gear which supports the critical environment and Lab space. Designed training courses within the bio-containment engineering sector and produced training materials as appropriate to delivery ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding policies. Delivered training to delegates, assessed performance, conducted appraisals and recognised individuals’ needs for further coaching and training. Conducted Training Gap Analysis and Training Needs Analysis to the Engineering Department. Maintained strong working relationships with CEOs from external companies regarding the implementation of training solutions. Promoted team involvement in all HSE activities, initiatives and programmes including executing Risk Assessments. Supervisory responsibility all sub-contractors on the completion of maintenance activities across site with no loss to Science (Critical Research). Identified cost reductions for budgetary requirements that was approved and implemented by the senior leadership team. Prepared, documented and maintained emergency procedures for all events within the estate.

 Oversaw the operations of the Marine Engineering Department of ship and shore establishments. Delivered multi-million-pound ship refit for the Engineering Department including training, equipment fitting and equipment testing ahead of timelines. Transformed a failing Department in the Falklands Islands, implemented quality checks and integrated across the Army, Navy and RAF unit. Developed and introduced an administrative system to manage personal training and staff performance. Key member of the command team for boarding parties investigating anti-piracy and drug enforcement checks as well as the Chief Instructor for the Navy’s flagship (Primary) Firefighting school. Successfully achieved a 100% pass rate for professional qualifying examinations across the Marine Engineering department staff and received an award for an outstanding contribution to career management for implementing changes to the Engineering Branch career structure.
