Principal Software EngineerMarconi Jun 2000 - Jan 2002Kista, Stockholm, SeMarconi (originally GEC Plc) acquired MSI in 2000. Marconi declared bankruptcy in 2003 as a result of the dot com collapse and all remaining assets were sold/acquired by Ericsson in 2005. Principal Software EngineerMsi Nov 1998 - Jun 2000London, Greater London, GbMSI (Mobile Systems International, headquartered in London, England and maker of cellular radio tower planning software "Planet") merged with Metapath becoming Metapath Software Inc aka MSI. My previous responsibilities continued. -
Principal Software EngineerMetapath Sep 1995 - Nov 1998Developed wireless billing collection and provisioning software. Our software was originally developed and installed for US West NVG (US West's original cellular division that was created as a competitive response to McCaw Cellular and the rapidly expanding cellular market). I got my first cell phone, a Motorola brick - it was awesome! The billing collection and provisioning system was marketed as Ceos. A performance monitoring system was also prototyped called Ceer. Eventually, US West NVG was acquired by Airtouch and Metapath's Ceos billing collection and provisioning software was chosen as the standard within Airtouch. A year later, Airtouch merged with Verizon Wireless and again, Metapath Ceos was chosen as the system throughout Verizon Wireless. Metapath also won the bid for billing collection and provisioning at Sprint PCS.

Sr. Software EngineerNetworks Northwest, Inc Jan 1992 - Sep 1995Developed the BReeze dial-up bridge/router in response to a consulting project using the very difficult to setup Telebit NetBlazer. The BReeze was designed to be an easy to install network router that could connect small office networks together over phone lines with the only configuration being the router's IP network address and the phone number of the other router. The product's debut was at Interop '95 and where, to our dismay, 8 other companies, including 3Com, Rockwell, Packeteer, and Telebit also introduced identical or similar products.

Software EngineerIbm Sep 1989 - Jan 1992Armonk, New York, Ny, UsDeveloped orbital software components for the Department of Defense Space Command's CC&S contract. My specific responsibilities included updates and maintenance to the antenna tracking angle calculations and antenna rotation prediction algorithms; orbital maneuver ephemeris splicing using pre and post maneuver ephemeris; and studying and prototyping newer technologies for use in orbital management software including porting sample components and algorithms to Ada and LISP for demonstration purposes with various policy makers in the DoD community. This is when I learned three things will survive a nuclear holocaust: cockroaches, Twinkies, and IBM 3270 terminals.
