I was responsible for analyzing the competitive impact of proposed mergers and acquisitions through investigations that employed production orders under the Competition Act, and interviews with various market participants including competitors, customers, and suppliers.I reviewed over 40 mergers in various industries, including chemicals, consumer products, dairy, fertilizers, finance, forestry, agriculture, insurance, oil and gas, manufacturing, paint, telecommunications, transportation, etc., supervising over 10 reviews.

I represented the Canadian Competition Bureau in an international fellowship in Washington DC. I was responsible for building relationships with foreign antitrust enforcers, analyzing American procedures and practices in merger review, sharing Canadian best practices, identifying areas of improvement for the Canadian Competition Bureau and facilitating cooperation between governments.I participated in the review of two very complex mergers that were challenged by the Commission. I was also responsible for drafting and reviewing numerous court submissions in relation to a preliminary injunction proceeding before a US District Court.
