Completed Technical Report 2017-826 under my honors thesis advisor David Kotz.Abstract: The authenticity, confidentiality, and integrity of data streams from wearable healthcare devices are critical to patients, researchers, physicians, and others who depend on this data to measure the effectiveness of treatment plans and clinical trials. Many forms of mHealth data are highly sensitive; in the hands of unintended parties such data may reveal indicators of a patient's disorder, disability, or identity. Furthermore, if a malicious party tampers with the data, it can affect the diagnosis or treatment of patients, or the results of a research study. Although existing network protocols leverage encryption for confidentiality and integrity, network-level encryption does not provide end-to-end security from the device, through the smartphone and database, to downstream data consumers. In this thesis we provide a new open protocol that provides end-to-end authentication, confidentiality, and integrity for healthcare data in such a pipeline.We present and evaluate a prototype implementation to demonstrate this protocol's feasibility on low-power wearable devices, and present a case for the system's ability to meet critical security properties under a specific adversary model and trust assumptions.

Malware Detection and Exploitation Capability (MDEC):- Worked with Malware Analysts and a Lead Developer to build a distributed, continuous processing system using Apache Storm & Hadoop with an ElasticSearch backend and Kibana. - Learned Malware Analysis including breakdown of Assembly Code and Decryption techniques as well as special hashing during the intensive intern training program, lessons continued sparsely throughout the internship. - I was entirely in charge of several aspects including both the processing and backend storage of the project, and had the freedom to explore and work on what I wanted to.- When I arrived, the framework had been laid but the project did not work and they were using a base Apache Accumulo storage system. I extended the projects use cases, made the backend system more useable with ElasticSearch/Kibana, and laid excellent framework for future development so that the project was working.

Database Conversion: - Used C# and Java knowledge to fix known bug in upsizing tool that involved the way the program accessed the database and was preventing Fleetpro from upgrading their system. - Used VBA to make changes to the Fleetpro front end Access database which were necessary for the SQL database to interact efficiently with Access- Helped to execute the upsize from Microsoft Access Database to SQL server- Gained work experience with VBA and SQL languages, as well as front-end/back-end system managementTraining Program Rework:- Researched new training methods for employees that would further certify them and help the business as a whole, in the process I ended up reorganized the entire existing training structure for new employees- Created apps to display practice tests which new employees used to practice for ASE test
