Product Manager for Appsody, an open source tool to help developers create cloud native microservices based on best practice application stacks. Led multiple agile development teams, across geographically dispersed sites, to shape and deliver IBM’s cloud native runtimes strategy. My responsibilities include both business development and personnel management. I engage with clients, partners and open source developer communities to generate requirements and opportunities; work with our technical and executive leaders to shape and execute our strategy; manage stakeholder relationships and ensure effective communication between groups, and run enablement sessions to help sales and developer advocate teams succeed.As a manager I am responsible for the day-to-day concerns of my teams, as well as the growth of their careers and skills. I also take part in assessment centres and interviews to recruit top talent

I lead the market enablement team for IBM z Systems with a particular focus on CICS - a mixed language application server, and z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition - which provides RESTful APIs for z/OS data and applications. My main responsibility is to drive a Digital-First approach to our marketing and enablement efforts, through creating marketing maps and campaigns, analysing performance through the sales funnel, optimising our web presence, liaising with the development organisation to create supporting blog posts/tutorials, and promoting via social media.My ability to communicate the real value in technologies in a way that is consumable by both C-suite executives and developers, as well as a somewhat annoying eye for detail, means I can create high quality digital assets, such as videos and graphics, to support our offerings. It has also allowed me to present both directly to customers as well as at numerous conferences such as InterConnect, GSE and z Tech University.As a team lead I take a personal interest in growing skills in my team, through both coaching/reviewing as well as delegating projects. Our team has to balance longer-term strategic projects with frequent and urgent items, which has given me good organisational skills and allows me to be comfortable managing multiple tasks at once.

Worked on CICS Deployment assistant, contributing a new comparison feature and driving a common look and feel across the various Eclipse based UIs for our portfolio. Created video tutorials and blog posts to evangelise the offering.

FV Tester for Modern Batch Feature Pack (Jan 2013 - May 2013)Wrote and executed High-Level and Low-Level Test plans Modern Batch within CICS Transaction Server. The feature pack enabled customers to minimise the batch window by adopting a Java Batch model to run in parallel with OLTP. I presented this to customers at various internal events in IBM and at conferences such as GSE UK.Syntax Checker Lead (Oct 2012 - February 2013)Led development of a syntax checking application for CICS. Tasked with developing our current solution I was instead able to move our efforts to supporting a Rational project - which was more popular with our customers. I shared expertise with the Rational team to ensure their offering could match the high standards required, which in turn enabled us to remove the unnecessary, duplicate development effort of supporting our own solution.Delivery Test Infrastructure (Oct 2011 - Oct 2012)Worked as part of a team supporting the development and testing of CICS Transaction Server. Including leading our Translational Verification Testing with global teams.
