Operation, maintenance and repair of ship's machinery, systems and structure.Management of department staff, work planning, risk assessment and safety procedures.Administration of ship's planned maintenance system and other recordkeeping systems.Responsible for training of junior staff and cadets.Other areas of responsibility include: Fuel efficiency analysis and fuel efficiency projects. Ship's safety and environmental committee representative. Regular periods acting as Chief Engineer.
