Exec Producer, David Hatch and Canadian music industry legend, Bernie Finkelstein OB have joined up to produce a feature length documentary film for CBC's documentary Channel. Under the banner of their production company, Atomic Reaction Films Inc., the pair are currently wrapping post-production on a 90 minute feature length documentary - Atomic Reaction. The film is about Canada's role in the Manhattan Project and is on track to premiere in April 2024. Multi award-winning documentary filmmaker, Shelley Saywell is also Executive Producing alongside Hatch and Finkelstein. The production team also includes two-time Gemini award-winning Director/Editor Michele Hozer. DOP John Minh Tran csc is the lead cinematographer. Award winning (4 Gemini's, 3 Junos, 2 CSAs and a BAFTA) Arranger/Composer Jonathan Goldsmith is creating the film's score.

David Hatch is the founder of WhistleStop Productions Inc., a full-service broadcast television production company focused on creating original live sports, magazine and documentary programming. Over the past 35 years, my company, WhistleStop Productions has created and produced over 60 original network television series and many one-off, multi camera, live event productions. WhistleStop’s extensive programming resume includes over 500 hours of original, broadcast, network programming for Bell Media and ESPN Inc. and 180 hours of television for Blue Ant Media. Most recently, WhistleStop Productions created 23 original television series for Netflix, Cottage Life TV, Travel & Escape, Love Nature, Discovery Velocity, Smithsonian Channel, BBC, HIFI HD and Destination America. WhistleStop Productions currently produces the long running television magazine, Motorcycle Experience for TSN (now in production on Season 35).

David Hatch emerged from the Toronto suburbs after having had access to a fully equipped television studio at his high school. He scored his first paying work as a sound engineer for Toronto’s multilingual TV station OMNI Channel 47. In 1984, David participated in the launch of Canada’s first dedicated sports channel, TSN, and served four years at Global Television in Toronto as a writer/producer/journalist before creating his own tv production company, Whistlestop Productions Inc. in 1989. David has four serious addictions - guitars, motorcycles and classic sports cars. The fourth is telling stories about the other three. David has produced over 600 hours of original television content. He has created a number of documentary tv series including Land Speed Heroes and Off Limits shot on the Bonneville salt flats, BackStage Secrets with the band RUSH and Guitar Picks with Kim Mitchell, also the docu-reality tv series Pit Crews, the Canadian Chopper Build Off series and the Ultimate SuperBike. For 32 years, David has hosted and produced a magazine TV show on TSN for motorcyclists called Motorcycle Experience. In all his spare time he still manages to devote some time to playing with his band Pushbroom Tycoons. His band once opened for April Wine and Trooper in a local hockey arena. It doesn't get any more Canadian than that!
