About David Heath

I was born in Trinidad and was educated at Culford School in Suffolk, a Public Boarding School in the UK. I obtained my flying qualifications, including the ATPL, at The College of Air Training, Hamble, when I was 20 years old. In 1976 I commenced my career as a Third Pilot on the B707 with BWIA and flew with this company for THIRTY years. My progression was thence to be an F/O on the B707, MD-83, L1011 and moving to command on the MD-83 and then the A340. I was a Training Pilot at the age of 22 and was involved with training for many years while at BWIA in several positions. I was a TRE and RETRE. I also held three managerial posts as Fleet manager of the MD-83 and the A340 and then The Manager of Standards and Training. After BWIA closed down I moved to the UK and started flying with EasyJet, becoming a Line Training Pilot and being awarded Trainer of the Year in 2014. I am presently flying with EasyJet as a Line captain and recently started mixing my Line Flying with one of the elements of aviation I am committed to, namely, simulator TR training.
