The main objective of the WGF is to provide leadership on global water governance as well as providing technical support to UNDP country offices. Through this, I am strongly engaged in NDC enhancement/implementation activities, including assessment of water sector potential as well as providing dedicated support to country focal points from various countries. This includes the preparation of material designed to help non-water specialists understand the implications of mitigation and adaptation activities on water resources.I am also leading internal activities relating to working with and supporting Indigenous Peoples in water policy process including the publication of a forthcoming report on Indigenous Values and Water Governance, as well as other activities intended to support increased engagement of Indigenous Peoples in water challenges at an international level. My other key activity stream supporting implementation of Source to Sea programme activities. The Source to Sea programme has various facets, but contains a structured approach that can give policy makers more insight into their water governance gaps and helps identify suitable interventions that might actually work. My prior experience of working within similar watershed or catchment groups in New Zealand, as well as with transboundary groups in Africa, has proven very useful for supporting activities in Ethiopia and Viet Nam around source to sea analysis and understanding.
