-Deployed to Afghanistan as an Embedded Police Advisor Officer in Charge in the Kajaki District of Helmand Province. -I lived and worked with the Afghan Uniformed Police and served as the primary adviser to the Afghan District Chief of Police with regard to matters of: - Community Oriented Policing - Physical Security - Incident Response - Law Enforcement Operations - Internal Security/ Workplace Violence - Protective Intelligence Operations - Intelligence Led Policing (Evidential and Operational) - Criminal Investigations and Surveillance - Administration - Air and Ground logisticsMajor Accomplishments:- Established 5 new police precincts in volatile and dangerous territory- Advised and assisted the Afghan Police leadership on over 100 arrests of local criminals andTaliban insurgents.- Successfully advised the Afghan Police on recruiting strategies and techniques whichyielded a 25% increase towards staffing goals.- Assisted the Afghan leadership in intelligence and investigations which led to the capture of 5 highvalue individuals and the exploitation and destruction of the largest improvised explosive device cache in the district.- Advised the Afghan Police on more than 500 foot and vehicle patrols.- Supervised and conducted more than 240 hours of instruction and assistance to the Afghans onlaw enforcement operations.- Established the districts first Operations Control Center for the district that allowed for improved coordination between the Afghan Police leadership and all spectrums of Afghan Security forces.

-Leads, plans, directs, and supervises Military Police Company operations.-Responsible for the training, safety, security, and discipline of company.-Responsible for preventive maintenance, security and accountability of organizationalequipment and material.-Design challenging, realistic pre-deployment training exercises for individuals anddetachments deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.-Ensure routine administrative actions (promotions, awards, disciplinary, etc.) areprocessed and forwarded to the supporting personnel center.-Responsible for the physical, mental, moral welfare, and performance of his Marines andSailors.-Accountable for the pre-deployment readiness requirements to include medical, dental,legal, financial and administrative issues.-Subject Matter Expert to the battalion commander on all law enforcement missions andcapabilities.Job Accomplishments:-Successfully ensured the maintenance and management of a motor pool of 64 vehicles worth$8,011,644.00 and all associated equipment.-Ensured the accountability and care of 40 weapon systems, 156 individual weapons, 709mm pistols, and all associated equipment.-Developed and supervised 1 live fire range with advanced weapon systems and 1 pistol range that vastly improved the Marines deployment readiness as a whole.-Developed and taught Military Police Company on advanced exploitation of crime and insurgent sites.-Successfully ensured the promotions and awards of 7 Marines and sailors.-Ensured the welfare and needs of the Marines were taken care of at all times, to includeproper counseling, administrative matters, training, and morale boosting events.-Ensured the readiness of the Marines of Military Police Company and provided 2nd MarineDivision with 3 Police Mentor Teams in support of OEF and successfully filled 1 combatreplacements to RCT-8 and 4 to 3rd battalion 2nd Marines in support of OEF

This job taught me the meaning of service to others. I was hired as a server then after 1 year became a closer. This job gave me a respect and appreciation for those that serve others in even the most menial tasks.

I worked at my family business and learned the fundamentals of day to day business operations and long term strategic planning. I also learned the values of hard work, punctuality, ethics, and service. Through this experience I learned a wide variety of trades including sheet metal fabrication, machining, and fireplace installation. I come from a family of entrepreneurs and learned first hand the hardships and success.
