Technical Support Engineer for Drilling Fluids, Solids Control and Waste Management for NOV after acquisition of AMC Germany

Responsible for all aspects of drilling fluids planning for operator projects, from tendering phase through to post well reports. Preparing the programs and proposals for the drilling fluids and waste mangement (solids control equipment, waste disposal streams, etc). Taking part in all aspects of well planning and fluid designs working closely with the operator, including work process procedures and wellbore management practices. Providing remote office and on site supervision and support for the Driling Fluids Engineers assigned to the projects. Assisting customers from the minerals division when necessary, attending exhibitions and conferences to represent AMC.Involved also in the further development of the AMC fluids reporting software MUD-Project for Germany.

12/2008 – 02/2012: Drilling Fluids Technical Professional, Baroid GermanyPromoted into the office in Celle as Driling Fluids Technical Professional, Baroid. Passed Technical Professional seminar (Block II training) as top of class in 2009. Writing fluids proposals and programs for various well projects in Germany and Poland, for operators including RWE Dea, ExxonMobil, Wintershall Holding, Eon-Hanse, GdF Suez E & P.Also responsible for shale gas fluids solutions in Europe.

Worked as trainee then mud engineer on land jobs for Halliburton Baroid in Germany. Attended Baroid mud school in Houston Sep-Nov 2007. Worked as lead mud engineer for Wintershall Emlichheim campaign from June 2008 before joining the office technical support team.

Service Technician resposible for customer support and software training for diverse ultrasonic testing (UT) systems from ScanMaster and Vogt Ultrasonics (known then as Vogt Werkstoffprüfsysteme GmbH), including spot weld inspection systems, water immersion systems and magnetic crawler systems. Customers included Daimler Chrysler, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, MTU, Plansee AG, EADS, Airbus to name a few.

Worked as a P & D on sites all over Germany, including runnning own sites as supervisor. Learnt German while working on the sites.

Served in the 1st Battalion Scots Guards as a Regimental Signaller, leaving as Lance Corporal5 years based in Germany with BAOR and 7th Armored Brigade (Desert Rats) in Bergen-Hohneas Regimental Signaler then Signals Detachment 2ic in a Rifle company, responsible for all radio equipment and stores for the company and working in Company HQ
