The Director of Trauma Services will be responsible for ensuring that the trauma care for BHS is in constant compliance with stateregulations appropriate for the level of trauma designation maintained in the various BHS facilities. Possesses in-depth knowledge andexperience to meet the needs of trauma patients. Works closely with the medical staff, administration, department heads, ancillary staffand nursing personnel to coordinate all aspects of trauma care. Provides overall administration of the Trauma Services will include, butis not limited to: trauma registry; trauma care management; performance improvement; trauma education; nursing direction; physicianrelations and education; Regional and State Trauma Advisory Councils; BHS representative to external entities; communityinvolvement.

The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing resources for designated services/ department(s) on atwenty-four (24) hour basis. These responsibilities include: budget responsibility; efficient/effective resource utilization; recruitmentand effective/efficient management of assigned staff; achieving quality outcomes; performance improvement; monitoring of quality andquantity of services; maintaining positive working relationships with staff and System departments and managers, and purchasing andmaintaining equipment.

Instructor Flight Nurse -Performed duties as the senior medical member of the aeromedicalevacuation team; provided inflight management and nursing care forall types of patients.- Instructed students in the principles of altitude physiology, effects onpatient condition and nursing management.
