• Plan the field trial objectives and protocols in compliance with Act 36 of 1947 requirements.
• Supervise both in-house trials, performed by Development Officers, and external contractors.
• Evaluate trail data and perform statistical analyses.
• Write detailed reports of the trails in support of the application for registration.

• Identify possible trial venues and, if required, travel to these to perform trial work.
• Conduct training and talks on new and existing products.
• Use own initiative in seeking out new product possibilities without prejudicing current research activities.
