As an Accounting Honours student, I had the opportunity to learn and apply accounting and finance principles to real world situations by conducting research for an Honour's thesis. My desire to understand and learn both the applications and the reasons of those principles was fostered through research assisting at Mount Royal University. Previous volunteering experience showed me the importance of team work and leadership. While in Chile for two years, I naturally took on roles of influence and management in order to accomplish set goals of improving the personal life of those living in impoverished areas. There I developed people skills and I learned two languages (Spanish and Haitian Creole).
