Monitors and maintains and performs a variety of complex repairs on semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment to ensure uninterrupted production flow. Also performs periodic preventative maintenance procedures as defined by specification. Provides technical support in the form of troubleshooting, installation, diagnostics, adjustment, repair, modification, assembly and calibration of equipment according to specifications, blueprints, manuals, drawings and verbal or written instructions. Utilizes a structured and comprehensive method to identify the root cause of process or equipment malfunction; implements corrective action after thorough analysis to increase probability of the right fix the first time based on product quality parameters. Performs electrical, mechanical, software troubleshooting and maintenance for related equipment, tools, cable assemblies and fixtures. Checks and calibrates tools, equipment and fixtures using test and diagnostic equipment as required. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of moving machinery. Assists in the layout, assembly, installation and maintenance of pipe systems and related equipment. Maintains and monitors maintenance parts stock. Maintains accurate records and logs of work performed, modifications, calibrations, adjustments and parts inventory. Equipment used includes office equipment, power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, volt meters, soldering irons, hand tools, power tools and personal computers.

Applies advanced skills to wire, assemble, test, troubleshoot and calibrate complex semiconductor fabrication equipment and subassemblies under a demanding production schedule. Performs precision measurements and works within close tolerances. Performs special projects/assignments as required. Verifies incoming materials for quality and accuracy. Positions large assemblies and subassemblies on shop floor using electric pallet jacks. Prepares unneeded items for return to warehouse stock. Follows complex manufacturing procedures and instructions. Uses industrial lifting equipment to position large, heavy components including manual jacks, hydraulic jacks, overhead gantry cranes. Once in position, secures components with various fasteners and torques to specification in accordance with manufacturing instructions. Performs quality assurance inspections. Performs leak test of vacuum components using a helium leak detector. Documents work completed and follows up with internal customers. Passes down work in progress to other shifts. Works weekends as necessary to complete objectives on schedule. Recycles packing material and jigs as part of a zero landfill manufacturing initiative. Works in a team environment to coordinate and achieve team objectives. Prepares end product for final packaging and shipment to customer. Performs disassembly of tested units for shipment as required by needs of select customers. Performs safety inspections of tools and work area. Performs security screening of persons, including tasks such as: hand-wanding, pat-down searches, and monitoring walk-through metal detector screening equipment; Performs security screening of property, including the operation of x-ray and explosive trace detection machines to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers; preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft.
