Brought in as engineering specialist to stand up a Service Assurance team within the larger Wireless Edge group. My charter was to share my experiences with modern service assurance tools to assist Verizon deliver on offered SLAs to their new 5G customers. Responsibilities included forging and foster relations with other teams and groups within the organization as well as new and existing vendors. Designed and implemented automation of auditing and pro-active mitigation steps to prevent outages. Managed projects relating to network directives to continuously evolve the network. Acted as the primary liaison between operations and engineering. Part of the role also included completing any network compliance or network implementations that could not be managed by either organization. Examples would include code upgrade cycles or rapid deployment of break/fix issues or bug fixes. Leveraged tools such as Kibana and HPNA. Knowledge of various network architectures such as VXLAN, MEC, LTE, 4G networks, 5G networks to perform these functions.

Lead Engineer on team that monitored networkwide performance and recommended optimization of the 4G network. Worked with various monitoring and performance tools such as SevOne, NetScout IrisView, EXFO Accedian, Juniper WANDL/North Star and Forward Networks. Network metrics monitoring included latency, jitter, packet loss, bandwidth consumption and utilization. Responsibilities included evaluating new products and tools for performance function. TWAMP was used to provided SLA metrics used for optimization of network traffic patterns. Used network analytics tools such as Splunk and ELK to analyze data. Leveraged automation tools to provide corrective measures when necessary

Key engineer on the Data Service Operations (DSO)-Service Assurance team supporting the team’s mission statement of pro-active troubleshooting and optimization. Principle function was to review Vulnerability and security compliance audits for all platforms that fell under the DSO organization’s responsibility. Other responsibilities included review and development of network audits in which appropriate mitigation steps were either developed or implemented. Mitigation steps ranged from pro-actively implemented solution to working with device owners to inform of vulnerability, propose solution and track other teams’ corrective actions. Provided them Method of Procedures for any issues or ongoing projects. Involved in performing failover testing with other teams and organizations within Verizon for pre-production services. This could include project management of testing.
