Electrical).Working as an Multi Disciplined Team Leader at the Lackenby Steelmaking site (Tier 1 COMAH). Duties include fault diagnostics across the Concast plant. Experience with SAP, ADP, PLC, SCADA, networking, overhead cranes, hydraulics, pneumatics, water systems which are a few of the associated pieces of equipment we deal with on a daily basis. We also have to prioritise the jobs where we think the least cost / safest outcome which was our number one aim. I am responsible for a team of electricians / fitters / instrument technician and boilermakers in job designation and also sourcing spares for associated equipment. Responsible for timekeeping and also keeping training records up to date. Liaise daily with higher management to organise periods for when maintenance can be carried out with no effect on production.

Coal / ore handling, and also the coke ovens. We also had to prioritise the jobs where we thought the least cost / safest outcome which was our number one aim.

Worked a rotating shift pattern.Duties included stock taking, overhead crane driving, steel processing, emergency plant breakdowns, fault-finding, preventive maintenance, repair and isolation of a wide range of electrical / mechanical equipment and controls. General plant operational duties & analysis when required.

I worked on several plants throughout my apprenticeship including Coil Plate Mill, Beam Mill, Blast furnace, Loco Shops and Bos Plant where one was trained in a wide range of electrical and instrumentation processes and control.
