About David Hickie

Dr David Hickie BSc(Hons), MA, PhD, CMLI, ASLA, CEnv, MIEMA, IHBCFounder and Principal Consultant: Heritage Matters Simply put, I use my passion, processes and perspiration - gained from over 30 years’ experience working in the public and NGO sectors, including at CEO level, seeking to conserve and protect our cultural heritage - especially historic buildings. This is backed by my successful commercial and entrepreneurial approach to all the activities I am involved in. I am a internationally recognised expert in the field of heritage planning and assessment; and a passionate social and architectural historian. I am the author of national assessment guidelines prepared for the UK’s Environment Agency; and, a researcher and writer in the field of heritage and landscape.
