After five years as a Rotarian I have been elected as the 101st President of the Rotary Club of Sydney. I know that many of you are at the stage of your professional lives where you want to 'give back' to the community and I encourage you to consider joining Rotary. The Club supports many local and international projects with particular focus on youth services, Indigenous education and global health. I have a special interest in peacebuilding and social justice and work closely with the Institute for Economics and Peace in my role as Club president.We have regular meetings with interesting guest speakers and other social events where you can expand your social circle as I have. The Hartley Vale Mount Blaxland Land Managers are responsible for the Historic Hartley Vale Cemetery located in the Hartley valley. This has great historical significance and dates from 1837 with the first settlers across the Blue Mountains. We are also responsible for the management of Mount Blaxland, the western most point of the Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth expedition - the first crossing of the Blue Mountains by Europeans - in 1813.
